Browlift offers a refreshed look by correcting heavy brows and deep wrinkles in the forehead area.
You will be prescribed medication for your comfort during the procedure. Dr. Weinzweig and our anesthesiologist will decide the best choice given your physical health and cosmetic goals.
There are a few choices in terms of the location of the incision. A traditional browlift incision begins at the hairline of the temples and extends slightly. There are limited incision and direct incision options available too.
Excess skin is removed and the position of the eye brows is correct.
The surgeon will close the incisions. When fully healed, the incision lines from the procedure will be well hidden.
The results from a browlift are immediately apparent. You may have some swelling initially in the forehead and face area but usually the swelling is mild to moderate. Your final results will give your face a more youthful and rested appearance.

The effects of aging and the environment can make your forehead and brow look heavy. People may perceive you as tired or unhappy when in fact you are neither. With aging, the natural arch of your eyebrows may be weighed down by excess skin on your forehead or you may have deep wrinkles that cannot be corrected by non-surgical solutions. A forehead lift can turn back the clock and make you look like a younger, more rested you. Removing excess skin and repositioning your brows back to their more youthful position. This reverses the signs of aging allowing you to look more like you should feel – young and beautiful.
There are many types of browlift procedures and our approach will depend on your individual needs. We are often asked whether patients are “too young” or “too old” for browlift procedures. Our facelift patients range from 40 years old to 85 years old. A browlift simply describes the removal of excess skin and/or repositioning on eyebrows to reverse the signs of aging making browlift procedures individualized and appropriate for different age groups.
Browlift procedures are often combined with other anti-aging facial plastic surgery procedures such as eyelid lift and facelift. With browlift procedures, you can turn back the clock by 10 to 20 years and with less than a week of downtime.
Plastic surgery on the face requires years of surgical experience and judgement honed most appropriately through a plastic surgery training program. We created our “Dare to Compare” Scorecard to educate patients about surgeons' qualifications and to help our patients make an informed decision when selecting their surgeon. Facelift is a procedure where many doctors who are not plastic surgeons attempt to provide this service. Use the Dare to Compare to learn how to find a true plastic surgeon.
Many patients ask about the difference between a facelift and a browlift. Both procedure seek to rejuvenate the face however the location of the correction is different. A facelift focus on the mid and lower face region. A browlift focuses on the position of the brows.
